Prayer

"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people."

Ephesians 6:18

Prayer in Every Nation Southern Africa

Prayer, as we know, in a general sense, is communication with God. It is, however, necessary to say that prayer is more than communication with God. It is also a vehicle for birthing the purposes of God on the earth. Prayer has a way of making our efforts more worthwhile and lasting. Prayer makes our evangelism efforts more compelling. Prayer makes our discipleship processes more effective. Prayer helps to knit our hearts together. It also has a way of weakening the enemy’s efforts against the work of God.

In the Southern Africa region, prayer is on the rise. Our churches are praying, and prayer has been growing steadily. Different congregations and clusters approach it differently. There are monthly fasting and prayer meetings, pre-service prayers, and other prayer initiatives.

Mid-Year PFC

Mid-Year Prayer, Fasting and Consecration in July 2023

Churches may choose which week works best for them to have the fast, even though many will do 24-28 July. At the start and middle of every year, we come together to pray and fast for God to be made known in our lives and the people around us. As we preach God’s word, we are empowered by God to be channels of His miracles in our relationships and communities. Let’s reflect on how God can use all kinds of people to reveal Himself through miracles in advancing His kingdom.
