Prayer
"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people."
Ephesians 6:18
Prayer in Every Nation Southern Africa
Prayer, as we know, in a general sense, is communication with God. It is, however, necessary to say that prayer is more than communication with God. It is also a vehicle for birthing the purposes of God on the earth. Prayer has a way of making our efforts more worthwhile and lasting. Prayer makes our evangelism efforts more compelling. Prayer makes our discipleship processes more effective. Prayer helps to knit our hearts together. It also has a way of weakening the enemy’s efforts against the work of God.
In the Southern Africa region, prayer is on the rise. Our churches are praying, and prayer has been growing steadily. Different congregations and clusters approach it differently. There are monthly fasting and prayer meetings, pre-service prayers, and other prayer initiatives.

9:38 — Prayer initiative.
Set your alarm clock to 9:38 am/pm and take a minute to intercede with many other Every Nation members around the globe praying for labourers to go into the harvest field.
The Mission
2026 Week of Prayer, Fasting, and Consecration
Every year, Every Nation churches all around the globe begin the year with a time of prayer, fasting and consecration. Two devotional guides — one for individuals and one for families with younger children — are released on various platforms, and there are also daily devotional videos to help unpack the richness of Scripture surrounding the theme for the year.
We know that these resources will bless, challenge and encourage you even beyond the week of prayer, fasting and consecration, and we thus warmly invite you to make use of the resources all year around.
