Social Responsibility

We are committed to social responsibility because
Jesus calls us to serve the least of these.

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in… Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."

Matthew 25:35,40

The Johannesburg African Havens: Safe Places to Make Disciples. Every Nation Johannesburg began serving the poor through homework outreaches and by serving other ministries in 1995. They opened the first Baby Home in 2003. Today there are seven Baby and Child Homes, a community upliftment project (Transformation Vrededorp), a women’s empowerment project (Malibongwe), a project to launch young people who grew up in institutional care (Home-based and Work-based), as well as congregational projects to serve the homeless, train entrepreneurs, provide bursaries, as well as a Crisis Relief Team.

We are committed to social responsibility because

Jesus calls us to be salt and light in our communities.

"You are the salt of the earth… You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden… In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."

Matthew 5:13,14,16

Children must have a sense of identity to grow into maturity and it is our responsibility to speak identity into their lives. The One who created these precious children before they were formed in their mother’s womb, will tell us all manner of things about the children in our lives.
Don’t forget, EVERY CHILD IS A GIFT FROM GOD (Psalm 127:3). Let them know what God says about them!

We are committed to social responsibility because

God calls us to stand for justice.

"He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.“

Micah 6:8

“Social Responsibility points the finger back to you and me. We are responsible because we know that God loves the orphan, the widow, the poor, the foreigner and the exploited and provides numerous mandates for us to do the same. The heart of Social Responsibility ministry is having the heart of God towards people in difficult circumstances.”
